The Huron County Planning Commission members began their regular meeting Wednesday night by looking over several different articles from www.wind-watch.org pertaining to wind power and wind energy. They also went over an article covering repurposing and recycling markets for "old solar panels". The Commission members continued working on the Huron County Master Plan and all edits were forwarded to Alan Bean, planning consultant for Spicer Group Inc. Apple Blossom Wind LLC will provide additional compliance report information to the Planning Commission for the coming Spring. In other action, A PA 116 enrollment application was approved for 'Maust, Brent & Emily' to take over 112 acres of land, with zero buildings in place, in Sections 14 and 23 of Winsor Township for a total of 50 years. Public comments were light for the evening, but a man from Lincoln Township did voice his opinion on the "commercial" or "industrial" debate circling around the wind ordinance. The remainder of the meeting was spent working on the Commercial Solar Energy Facilities Ordinance. The Huron County Planning Commission will have their next meet on Wednesday, April 3rd, at 7:00 p.m.
