With many people at home and not at work because of the coronavirus they are looking for ways to keep busy and help the health situation. Karen Smith who normally would be at Laker Schools has been sewing up some face masks for health workers at Scheurer Hospital. She told us she started because her sons were delivering food and ran out of masks. She noted that those who can sew can get information on line about how to make them. Now she has completed her first batch for Scheurer Hospital (right). She's not alone in the area, Kathy Bolzman of Bad Axe shared with her friends on Facebook about how she was making them for her daughter-in-law and a friend who work at two different hospitals in the area (below). Our own Tina Hind; here at Wlew and her mother have been making the cloth masks for her daughter who is a nurse. In the written story on Thumb Net you will find a link to instructions on how to make the masks along with a video that show it step by step.
