The Harbor Beach City Council held its bi-monthly meeting Monday Night. The council first approved two bills, both to allocate funds to Booms Construction and Townley Engineering, respectively.
Then, the Harbor Beach Rotary Club presented their Backus Trail Tree Planting Project, which was designed to combat damage to trees done by the Emerald Ash Borer by planting new trees. The presentation was concluded by a $2,192 donation to the city fund by the Harbor Beach Rotary Club and Corteva Agrisciences.
Afterward, the council approved a bid from Flotation Docking Systems, inc. to help combat the flooding in the city, to which City Director Ron Wruble called the bid a "Change Order" on funds. The council also approved a Lions' Club request to hold White Cane Week on May 15th and 16th.
The meeting was then adjourned and the next meeting scheduled for February 3rd.
