The Huron County Planning Commission had a lengthy meeting Wednesday evening, covering a number of topics. Public Discussion was held on Amendment ZA 2019-01, and was approved to extend the Wind Moratorium up to a year, or until any problems are taken care of. That recommendation will be forwarded to the Huron County Commissioners. A paragraph was added to the Huron County Master Plan, stating that no new construction of wind turbines shall be done until the public has more information on the human effects of infrasound and low frequency sound caused by the wind turbines. The Draft Master Plan is currently being reviewed by the Planning Commission. The Board is asking everyone to take the online survey on www.huroncountysurvey.com pertaining to the Huron County Hazard Mitigation Plan. Any input from the community on this survey is greatly appreciated. Also approved Wednesday was the amendment to move the Dollar General Store and associated parking lot, set to be located at 1990 McTaggart Rd in Bingham Township, 10 feet south. The Facility Manager for Sempra Apple Blossom Gas & Power was in attendance to give an update on their compliance report for Spring 2019, and stated that tentative sound testing will take place sometime in early May of this year. Some minor word changes were made to the Village of Sebewaing 2019-2023 Parks and Recreation Master Plan regarding some of the parks, harbors and water lines running through that jurisdiction, as well as some minor changes to the Commercial Solar Energy Facilities Ordinance.
