Elkton Committee members brought attention, Tuesday night, to new police policy changes that have a large impact on Police Chief Scott Jobes.
During the meeting, Police and Ambulance Chairman Agnes Kosinski stated the changes to the Police Policy in version July 10th, 2018. One of the changes was in regards to overtime for the Chief.
Resident Jamie spoke on the matter in concern for Jobes that it seemed the committee and council as a whole was "holding his hands back from doing his job" by ensuring overtime was approved or viable reason.
Jobes, in response stated, "I do what committee tells me to do."
Jobes
doesn't abuse the rules. I just want to see everyone treated fairly."
Kosinksi stated that the only purpose of the policy changes was to see if hours fluctuate and to "streamline" the overtime and communications.
Eventually, the council voted on an amendment to reflect additional changes on overtime policy as well as approving the motion to accept the full police policy changes.
