On Monday night the community of Lakers schools decsended on the campus to view the many projects finished and in progress at the school. Renovations can be found around almost every corner at Laker Highschool. The Community was able to view the new Innovation Center were students printed free t-shirts for walk ins, new virtual reality technology was on desplay in a welding simulator, and the newest table saw with flesh sensitive technology were on display. Classrooms have been renovated for the comfort of students and staff with the installation of new projectors and brand new desks. The new desks available for students have adjustable desktops, wheels for easy transport, and ample storage space for student materials. Classroom 105 was on display due to its complete top to bottom renovation. The weight room is currently a project in progress on the West side of the campus. With completion expected within the next four weeks, older equipment will be moved into the space, as well as a selection of brand new equipment that will be available for use upon opening of the weight room. One of the biggest projects still in progress is the Lakers Legacy Center. A two-story complex built for a array of physical activities including basketball, baseball, track, and even includes an additional work-out space. On the ground floor are liesure areas and office space, as well as two brand new bathrooms. Construction of the new complex is expected to be completed within the next few months, although fairly behind schedule. Toward the end of the event the community gathered in the newly renovated auditorium to hear of the progress from the Superintendent, and then Superintendent Brian Keim was joined by members of the board of education and some staff to cut a ceremonial ribbon marking the completion of many large scale renovation projects at the school.
