Currently the center is not as handicap accessible as it should, according to Sue Morell of the Huron County Hockey Association. It also has tight corners for equestrians to maneuver and many other outdated features.
"We want to take this building down and put back up a nicer, bigger, more usable building," said Sue. "You can use it for so many different things once it gets updated."
For now, the Commissioers will have to 'okay'the project. Once that happens ground will hopefully be broken at the current Expo Center in April 2019 and has been promised to be finished by the time of the 2019 Huron County Fair.
The cost is projected to be between $1.5 or $2.5 million and an anonymous donor has made a very large contribution to the project thus far. More donors are also committed to the cause as well.
if anyone has questions or concerns, even want to donate, they may contact the Huron County Hockey Association through Facebook or contct a board member.
