Woodcarvers Meet for Tuesday Carving Sessions (Video)

Whittling away the hours at the Huron County Senior Center is The Thumb Woodcarvers club welcome to all who desire to learn a bit more about this cyclicall craft.
Larry Respondek and a friend started this group about two years ago as a way to keep busy during retirement, now it is a hobby for many, those still working or not.
"We work on our own individual projects," Respondek stated. "You bring in what you're working on, and if you get stuck on something, or maybe your perception is off, you're thinking, 'ya, this isn't right,' you ask someone,"
If you have no tools or wood to bring to the carving table, no problem. Lawrence shared that he would be willing to work with someone to make sure they can participate.
The group meets on Tuesdays from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. for all ages and stages, if they are able to wield a whittle responsibly.
