Karagen Harwood, for those who only know her from a glance is simply a beautician, if you know her well, she is boisterous and funny. Now, she's taking us all by surprise in her endeavor as one of ten contests for the next Fabulous model for Mac Duggal Prom.
Harwood completed high school in Harbor Beach, Michigan in 2015. From there she completed her license to be a certified cosmetologist and currently works for Polished in Kinde. Her journey for modeling may stem from her passion for inciting confidence, but she was not always confident herself, which is where our story begins.
The saleswoman
just kept saying,'because you're bigger this, because you're bigger that...and I decided I didn't want to be as big as I was, so when I went to prom next year I was able to fit into those certain types of dresses." She dropped a dress size but was still uncomfortable with the perception people had about "bigger women."
One positive experience at Viper shop changed everything with as an opportunity was offered to her to model for the store's plus-size prom collection. After garnering attention and being able to promote her values she is now, in her third year attempt to become the new Face of Fabulous for Mac Duggal. With this new opportunity Karagen will be afforded a large platform to change perceptions of what beauty and pageantry really means how body positivity is truly important in the industry.
Karagen is one of the Top 10 Finalists in a competition that is nationwide and should she win, it will be the ultimate adventure; modeling in New York, promoting body positivity and more.
