It was a bitter sweet village meeting for Elkton, Tuesday night. Long time Village of Elkton Clerk and Treasurer, Lonna Fisher, retired from her duties and passed the torch along to her successor, Phyllis Baranski.
The emotional tribute to Fisher's service on the village council was not shy from tears, or doting citizens who came to witness her retirement and commemoration as well as to see the oath of office taken by Baranski.
Other business was conducted in the regular meeting as well, regarding fertilizer practice for the soccer fields in the park, the new bid for trash removal being raised by $0.25 starting July 1st, and the developmentproject that will be taking place on Maude Street, near the Elkton One Stop Shop (commonly known as the Clark).
Attached for your viewing pleasure is a video created for the evening's special occasion.
