The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team spent Saturday morning at the Algonac Harbor Club for their monthly dive practice. They dove under the ice using surface supplied air and hard hats. It is important for the team to practice monthly regardless of the water temp or weather. Eric Pfeifer, Dive Chief 4, says it's important for the dive team to train in order to keep the team safe while they try and keep the public safe. He says the biggest reason to train is to keep familiar with all the equipment the team has. The dive team meets twice a month, once for a classroom type training and once for dive training. The team members dedicate a lot of their time to training so they can be ready for the times where they are needed.
