On Senate Floor Peters Calls for Greater Oversight of Line 5 inder Straits of Mackinaw- video

      U.S. Senator Gary Peters of Michigan spoke on the Senate floor Thursday to reiterate his call for more answers about the safety of Line 5 under the Straits of Mackinac following recent news reports that Enbridge did not disclose problems in the protective coating of the pipeline for more than three years. Earlier this week, Peters and Senator Debbie Stabenow of Michigan sent letters to the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration requesting a federal investigation into whether Enbridge complied with reporting and safety requirements, as well as a letter to the CEO of Enbridge requesting additional information about the company’s reporting practices.
