Laker students create 'Rube Goldberg' machine - video

Laker juniors and seniors in Deb Hasselschwert's physics class created a Rube Goldberg machine near the end of the school year as a big final project. A Rube Goldberg machine is blast from the past which is a deliberately complex contraption in which a series of devices that perform simple tasks are linked together to produce a domino effect. One device activates the next device in a sequence. It's named after the late Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist Rube Goldberg, known for his silly invention cartoons that depict such multi-step machines that were often depicted in newspapers years ago.
