Work began Tuesday to open the Oak Beach Boat Launch site- video

   Work started Tuesday on getting the Oak Beach boat launch open again. It had been closed for a year. The Road Commission was bringing in crushed stone and sand to get the small launch facility open. It is designed for smaller vessels like aluminum fishing boats or jet skis. It is located between Caseville and Port Austin and many in the area had complained to the Huron County Board of Commissions that is was closed with barricades. Those barricades have been moved to indicate where the private properly next to the site begins. The Huron County Commissioners were told Tuesday that the work should take several days.
