Huron County 8th-Grader Receives $2_000 MSU Pre-College Scholarship

Anna Klaska, an 8th-grade member of the Beach Buds 4-H Club in Huron County, has been awarded a $2,000 Michigan State University Pre-College Scholarship.
The scholarship is available to students in grades 8-11 who participated in one of MSU's 2025 summer pre-college programs. Klaska earned the award through her involvement in the World Food Prize Michigan Youth Institute, a program offered by MSU Extension 4-H Youth Development.
Recipients are selected based on their application and essay. The $2,000 award will be applied to the student's first year of enrollment as a degree-seeking student at MSU.
MSU Extension 4-H offers five annual pre-college programs designed to spark career interests, build skills, and prepare youth for college:
4-H Capitol Experience
4-H Exploration Days
4-H Great Lakes & Natural Resources Camp
4-H Animal & Veterinary Science Camp
World Food Prize Michigan Youth Institute
