Some changes might be happening with the Sebewaing Village Police Department.
During the police committee meeting, there was a discussion of dropping Delta College Consortium and going with Police 1 virtual training program.
It was noted that Continuing Professional Education (CPE) is ongoing in the department.
Sergeant Drew Gokey attended a Mobile Device Forensic Investigations Class, and Officer Benjamin Davis recently completed Field Training Officer.
And once again, blight is a never ending issue.
Officers received four new blight notices from zoning along with requests for citations to be issued.
Also, the 2020 Chevy Tahoe vehicle was taken in for preventative maintenance, and a donation was made to add additional lighting and upgrades for the patrol units.
During the meeting, it was reported officers handled 50 complaints over the last month, did 36 traffic stops, and the three patrol units traveled a total of 2,340 miles.
