Voters Approve Church School's Annexation

Voters approved the request to let the Church School District, also known as Lincoln Township School District No. 2, be annexed into Big Burning School District.

The Church School has struggled for several years with dwindling student numbers, difficulty hiring and keeping a teacher, and a shrinking fund balance, according to district officials.

Because of that, the school did not open for the last two academic years. Church was one of five rural schools in the area, including Big Burning, Adams, Eccles, and Verona Mills.
