Hemlock Public School District is reinforcing its commitment to responsive communication by publishing a "Chain of Command" guide to help families, staff, and community members know exactly where to turn when questions or concerns arise.
The district says the structure encourages quicker problem-solving and respectful dialogue by directing issues first to those closest to the situation - whether in the classroom, cafeteria, athletic field, or bus route. Each area follows a clear process: for example, classroom concerns go from the teacher to the principal, and then to the superintendent if needed.
Superintendent Dr. Don Killingbeck emphasized that the approach helps resolve issues at the source. "It respects everyone's time and leads to better outcomes. When we say kids come first, this is one way we show it."
