Wendy Cove, manager of Scott's Quik Stop, had a hunch that her store was overdue for a major lottery win. Her intuition was proven right when a Diamond Wild Time instant lottery ticket, purchased there on Tuesday, turned out to be worth $1 million. A Diamond Wild Time ticket sells for $20.

Located at the intersection of M-53 and M-46, about six miles north of Marlette, Scott's Quik Stop has never sold a million-dollar ticket during Cove's 12-year tenure. Cove, a Marlette High School and Michigan State University alum, has long anticipated a big win and has been watching other nearby locations sell significant winners.

As of Thursday morning, no one had come forward to claim or celebrate the big win at the store. Michigan Lottery officials confirmed the $1 million ticket was sold at Scott's Quik Stop, but they have yet to provide details about the winner.

Shirley Stolicker, another employee, expressed hope that the winner was a local resident. She noted that while she typically focuses on making sandwiches, she hopes the fortunate ticket holder will use their newfound wealth wisely. Cove remains optimistic that details about the winner will eventually emerge, as customers are sure to spread the word.
