Shyanne Phillips, a 27-year-old resident of Bad Axe, is facing serious charges after her arrest in the early hours of July 24. She is accused of two felony counts of assaulting police officers; one from the Bad Axe Police department and another from the Huron County Sheriff's office. Each count carries penalties of up to 2 years in jail and a $2,000 fine. Additionally, Phillips faces a charge of drunken disorderly conduct, which could lead to 90 days of jail time and a $1,000 fine.

The hearing for the disorderly conduct charge is scheduled for August 1 at 9 am, followed by a preliminary hearing for the felony charges on August 9 at 10:30 am.

As part of the legal proceedings, a no-contact order has been issued, preventing Phillips from directly or indirectly contacting her mother's ex-husband and her mother. However, there is an exception for necessary communications related to childcare for her two children, which her mother assists with. Allowed communication is limited to phone calls or texts solely for childcare purposes.

Phillips' bond has been set at $10,000 cash or surety. These developments highlight the seriousness of the charges against Phillips and the legal challenges she faces in the upcoming court proceedings.
