As summer temperatures rise, Caseville residents may notice some discoloration in their water supply. The discoloration is due to the increased lake water temperature affecting the distribution system, according to the Environmental, Great Lakes, and Energy Department (EGLE).
To address the issue, EGLE recommends flushing your water system. If you observe any discoloration, running your tap or garden hose for 15 to 20 minutes can help clear the water. Additionally, for those who have not occupied their homes or cottages for an extended period, it's advisable to flush out the old water to ensure fresh water flows through the system.
Residents are encouraged to follow these steps to maintain water quality during the warmer months.
