Preparations are underway for the Unionville-Sebewaing Area School District to start the 2024-2025 school year in mid-August.
When students return to class, they will see some changes. The district's board of education approved the purchase of 12 Promethean Boards at a cost of $2,949 per unit for a total of $35,388. A Promethean Board is an interactive whiteboard onto which images from a computer, tablet, or external camera can be done. The Promethean's interactive displays serve to improve classroom efficiency. Whereas traditional whiteboards and even some smart-boards can only be interfaced with using a marker or stylus, but the Promethean interactive displays can read a number of different tools and devices.
To go along with those new Promethean Boards, 12 wall mounts had to be purchased at a cost of $609 each for a total of $7,308 from Konica Minolta. Overall the cost of those new learning tools is $42,696. Incorporating a Promethean Board into lessons will help teachers reach a new level of interactivity with students.
