Sanilac County Mourns Retired Sheriff Virgil Strickler

With a heavy heart, the Sanilac County Sheriff's Department announced the passing of retired Sheriff Virgil Strickler on July 20, 2024.
With 20 years of dedicated service, Sheriff Strickler was a pillar of integrity and courage in the Sanilac County Sheriff's Office.
Sheriff Strickler began his law enforcement career in 1971 in Sandusky, following a tour in the United States Air Force and service in Vietnam. His contributions to public safety and community outreach left a lasting impact on the Sheriff's Office and the wider community.
The Sheriff's Office extends its heartfelt condolences to Sheriff Strickler's family and loved ones. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Rest in peace, Sheriff Strickler. Your legacy will forever be cherished in Sanilac County and beyond.
