A Harbor Beach man received a citation for failing to stop at a stop sign after his truck collided with a minivan carrying a Sandusky woman and her two grandchildren.
Huron Central Dispatch was notified of the crash around 12:05 PM on July 14th and dispatched Huron County Sheriff's deputies, the Harbor Beach Fire Department, and the Harbor Beach Police Department to the intersection of Sand Beach Road and Port Hope Road.
According to the Huron County Sheriff's Department, the 64-year-old Harbor Beach man was driving a 2005 Chevy Silverado northbound when he collided with a westbound 2008 Dodge Ram 1500.
The driver of the Silverado stated he did not see the approaching Ram, driven by a 54-year-old woman from Sandusky. She was traveling with her two grandchildren, aged seven and four. The impact of the collision was severe, causing disabling damage to both vehicles.
Despite the severity of the crash, Eastern Huron EMS assessed all involved, and both drivers and the children declined further medical treatment.
The driver of the Silverado was cited by the Huron County Sheriff's Department for his failure to stop at the stop sign, contributing to the crash.
