Teenager Critically Injured After ATV Turns into Passing Car in Huron County

A young teenager sustained life-threatening injuries while riding an ATV on Saturday afternoon after he abruptly turned into a passing vehicle in Huron County.
Michigan State Police troopers from the Caro Post, along with Bingham Township Fire Department, Central Huron Ambulance, Bad Axe Police Department, and Huron County Sheriff's Office, responded to the incident.
All were dispatched by Huron Central Dispatch on July 20th, around 12:30 PM, to the intersection of McMillian Road and West Wadsworth Road.
According to the MSP press release, a 14-year-old boy from Sheridan Township was riding an ATV southbound on McMillian Road. At the same time, a 48-year-old man from Ubly was also traveling southbound and attempted to pass the ATV. The teen suddenly turned into the right side of the passing vehicle, resulting in a collision that ejected him from the ATV.
The 14-year-old sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported by Central Huron Ambulance to a local hospital for treatment.
Further details about the condition of the injured teen or the ongoing investigation have not been released at this time.
