Because of their constant use, a community's water tower has to be inspected and cleaned every so often. It is the time for the Ubly Village water tower to undergo such an inspection.

From the bids that were received, the village council selected Dixon Engineering's bid of $4,750 to do an inspection of the water tower.

Regarding water issues, it was reported DPW Employee Vince Kuntze received his Waterworks System Operator's license from the State of Michigan. Now that Kuntze is a fully licensed inspector, he will receive a pay increase of $2.16 per hour.

During the meeting, the council was presented with a drawing of what the pickle-ball courts will look like when all of the work is done. Developing those courts will cost approximately $750 per court for the posts and netting. There will also be a removable barrier-free fence that will be put in and that can be removed for the basketball games to be played.

Because basketball and pickle-ball will be sharing the court area, a schedule has been worked out. The pickle-ball court will be open on Wednesdays and Sundays evenings at 6:30 p.m., and they will be open to everyone. The rest of the time the basketball court will be open for play.

Also, Police Chief David Rothe gave the council a quote for two body cameras that will cost $1,200. The purchase was approved.
