Free backpacks to be given away

There will be a free backpack giveaway from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesday, July 24, for students from kindergarten through eighth-grade.

To go along with giving away backpacks, they will be packed with some school supplies - pencil cases, pencils, water bottles, markers, and notebooks.

The event, which will be at the Huron County Democrats headquarters at 127 N. Heisterman St., Bad Axe, is first come, first serve until 1 p.m. or earlier if supplies are gone.
