The Vassar Township Board of Trustees approved a wage increase for themselves for the 2024-2025 fiscal year.

The pay for the supervisor will be $20,520, clerk will be paid $22,248, the pay for the treasurer will be $20,520, and the trustees pay was increased to $6,000 per year from $4,640 a year.

In other matters, the township will be building a new hall. The $859,500 bid by IRD Homes was approved. Approval for a new hall was not unanimous. Voting "yes" were Tom Borcherding, Deborah Pounds, and Bruce Foether. John Stack and Ben Partridge each voted against the motion.

Also, there were two positions to fill on the planning commission because of two resignations, and Tod Aymer was appointed to a two-year term on the planning commission.
