The last of the projects in the Cass City School District is in the process of being finished using the funds from a bond that was passed six years ago.
In 2018, voters approved a $8.86 million bond that funded several upgrades and improvements to school facilities. The last of the money from that bond is being used on parking lots at the junior - senior high school facility.
Other improvements include getting a new kindergarten through fifth-grade English language curriculum. The new program, "My View" from Savvas Learning of New Jersey costs $109,443.
Another financial decision included spending an additional $11,000 for more fencing around the football field.
Also, the contracts of all of the administrative staff was extended for the 2024 - 2025 school year. All of the evaluations rated them as either "effective" or "highly effective". State law requires each school's board of education and each intermediate school district's board of education to do a performance evaluation on administrators and on teachers as part of the Revised School Code.
