The Mayville School District's Board of Education approved some staff positions.

The contract of Superintendent Barry Markwart was extended for one more year. The single-year contract for the 2024 - 2025 school year was because Markwart indicated he plans to retire in June 2025.

In other staffing matters, the board approved granting second-year probation to the following teachers: Jennifer Blevins, Angela Giddings, Spencer Sillman and Kimberly Webb. The board also approved third-year probation for Andrea LeValley, Eric Olar, Kimberley Richardson and Matt Richardson.

The board then approved granting fifth-year probation to Sarah Buggia and James Stanhope. Also, tenure was granted to Julie Rude, Kelsey Neighbors, Joseph Russell, and Alison Rich.

A position on the board also had to be filled. From a field of three candidates, Nicholas West was selected to fill the vacancy created when Carlene Emmons resigned.
