The Reese Village Council wants to do a street improvement project, but they also don't want to pay too much to have the work done.
Rohloff Drive needs to be reconstructed, but the cost to do that is estimated to be higher than the anticipated cost. The council has about $105,000 to spend to do the work, but the last estimate that was received to do the road work was $118,000, which is $13,000 more than anticipated.
Tentative plans are to begin the road work in August.
In related street business, the storm drain on M-81 and Gugino Street continues to have issues. To address that problem, the Spicer Group was hired to create an engineering plan to resolve that issue. The plan is expected to be completed and ready for review in August.
Also, the village will soon have an opening on the parks and recreation committee that needs to be filled. Long-time member of that committee Deva Weber is not seeking reappointment to the committee when her term ends on Aug. 31.
