Driver Caught Speeding at 127 mph on I-75 with Illegal Handguns

In the early hours of July 12th, a car nearly doubling the speed limit on I-75 was found to have three illegally possessed handguns.
A Michigan State Police sergeant from the Caro Post was patrolling northbound I-75 in Bay County on Friday morning at 3:13 a.m. when he noticed a vehicle rapidly approaching from behind. Using his rear radar, he clocked the vehicle traveling at an alarming 127 mph in a 70 mph zone.
The sergeant initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, a 22-year-old from Waterford. During the stop, three handguns were discovered and seized as the driver did not possess a concealed weapons permit.
According to a press release from MSP 3rd District, the police report will be forwarded to the Bay County Prosecutor's Office for a review of charges.
