Elkland Township is ready for the August election.
The absent voter drop box, which is located at the fire hall, is ready for all of the election mail, including application and ballots.
Early voting for Elkland Township residents will be done at the Novesta Township hall at 3016 North Cemetery Rd., Cass City starting on July 27 through Aug. 4 until 4 p.m. The pre-election office hours will be on Sunday, Aug. 4 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Elkland Township Hall.
The township will also be running an Absent Voter Counting Board on Election Day at the hall while the in-person voting will be done at the VFW Hall. It was reported that Clerk Heather Severance and Deputy Clerk Lyle Severance each attended the required voter training class presented by the Michigan Bureau of Elections in June.
