In a swift investigation by the Bad Axe Police Department, two individuals were taken into custody Saturday afternoon following a drive-by shooting earlier that morning.
At approximately 1:45 a.m. on July 13th, officers responded to reports of a shooting on the 300 block of South Silver Street. Deputies from the Huron County Sheriff's Department also assisted at the scene.
A white sedan, driven by an unidentified male, had stopped in front of a residence and fired approximately 11 rounds from a semiautomatic pistol before fleeing. Several bullets struck and penetrated the occupied home, but no injuries were reported.
Thanks to quick evidence collection, including security camera footage, a 27-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman, both from Bad Axe, were arrested Saturday afternoon. Their names are being withheld pending arraignment in Huron County 73B District Court.
The white sedan and a semiautomatic weapon believed to be involved were also seized. The Bad Axe Police Department extended its thanks to the St. Clair County Sheriff's Office SWAT team, the Huron County Sheriff's Office, and local residents for their assistance in the investigation.
The Bad Axe Police Department's rapid response and thorough investigation were crucial in swiftly bringing the suspects to justice.
