Bad Axe Police investigating overnight shooting

On Saturday, July 13, 2024, at appromimately 1:45am, Bad Axe Police responded to the 300 block of South Silver St. in the city of Bad Axe, on a report of a shooting. Huron County Sheriff's deputies also responded.
Upon arrival, officers found that a white sedan driven by an unknown male had stopped in front of a residence in the 300 block of South Silver St. The suspect fired approximately 11 rounds from a semiautomatic pistol at the residence before fleeing the scene in the vehicle. Numerous rounds struck the residence with several penetrating into the home. The home was occupied at the time of the incident, but no injuries were reported.
Several pieces of evidence were collected at the scene and from the surrounding area, including video from area security cameras. The incident appears to be a targeted event and there is currently no known threat to the public.
