Several Elkton residents honored for their dedication to their community

Over the last few weeks there have been several very worthy people recognized for their contributions to the Elkton community.
The Elkton Lions Club presented longtime member Marty Baker with the Melvin Jones Award. That Fellowship Award is the highest form of recognition and embodies humanitarian ideas consistent with the nature and purpose of Lionism. Jones received the award for his exemplary service to his club and the community for which it serves.
The Lions Club selected the W.A. Herford & Sons Farms for the Citizen of the Year award. The Herford family is a well-known staple to the Elkton Community. They are always there to lend a hand whenever there is a need. The award was presented to the family for what they do for the Elkton Lions and the Elkton community.
Also, Aileen Jaworski was honored for her 24 years of service on the Elkton Ambulance. During her time on the service she handle herself with professionalism and dedication to the community.
