Michael Henne, a 30-year-old resident of Port Austin, was arrested on July 3 after the Michigan State Police (MSP) Computer Crimes Unit and Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, uncovered child sexually abusive material (CSAM) during their investigation, as reported by ThumbBroadcasting earlier this week. Subsequently, a search of his residence revealed illegal drugs, prompting legal action against him for both offenses.
During the search, authorities seized substances identified as analogs and methamphetamine. Henne was arraigned today on two felony charges related to drug possession: possession of methamphetamine, a controlled substance carrying penalties of up to 10 years in prison and a fine of $15,000; and possession of analogs, which could lead to up to 2 years in prison and a $2,000 fine.
A preliminary examination is set for August 2 at 9 a.m. Meanwhile, Henne's bond has been set at $10,000 for his drug charges.
This case underscores law enforcement's ongoing efforts to combat drug-related crimes and the exploitation of children through illicit materials. For more details on the investigation into CSAM, refer to the initial report by
