The Almond Township Board of Trustees approved placing a millage issue on the November ballot.

The request is to renew one mill for fire suppression services for 10 years. If approved, the millage issue would generate about $490,000 the first year to help fund operations for the department's operations and equipment maintenance.

In other matters, the board approved paying the township Clerk Jenny Hence $45,728, and they approved donating $1,000 to the Narcotics Unit (TNU).

Also, they approved an agreement for ditching 400 feet on Muir Road between Dryden and Hallow Corners at a cost of $4,884, to prepare legal documents to transfer ownership of Ferguson Cemetery.
