Two Candidates to be Interviewed for Almont School Superintendent

The search for an Almont Community School District superintendent continues.
On May 20, the district's board of education selected Jordan Ackerman, who is the superintendent of the Reese Public School District, and Kyle Wood, who is an assistant superintendent of Croswell-Lexington Community Schools, as its final two candidates.
At 6 p.m., on Tuesday, May 26, the board of education will conduct a second round of interviews.
As part of the next interviews, both Ackerman and Wood will ge give tours of the district from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. with a community meet and greet from 4:45 to 5:30 p.m. in the high school cafeteria,
After the second round of interviews is completed the board is expected to make a selection of who will be the next superintendent with an expected salary of between $135,000 to $150,000.
From a field of 18 applicants the board selected five candidates to be interviewed.
The superintendent position is open because Kimberly VonHiltmayer will retire on June 30 that will conclude her three decade long career with the district.
The others that were also interviewed were Lapeer High School Principal Jason Larsen, Corunna High School Principal Ron Jacobs and Ashley McCann-Markham, director of student services at LakeVille Community Schools.
