The Imlay City Commission approved a multi-year contract for trash collection service.
The commission approved a five-year extension to the city's solid waste collection and disposal contract with J&J Disposal.
The contract will run from this July to June 2031.
The contract calls for an increase to $15.05 per month from $14.55 this year. That contract includes leaf pickup in the fall.
However, the second year of the contract will decrease back to $14.95 per month because there won't be a leaf pickup in the fall.
J&J Disposal plans to purchase a truck to vacuum up leaves.
With that done, the contract will be $15.35 from 2028 to 2029, $15.75 will be the fee from 2029 to 2030, and the fee will increase to $16.15 from 2030 to 2031.
J&J Disposal has done the city's trash collection since 2012.
