Sanilac County Commissioners approved spending some millage money on a special educational drug program.
The "Cop-High in Plain Sight Training" event will take place on Aug. 24 at the Marlette High School.
The "High in Plain Sight" is a nationally recognized specialized training program created by Law Enforcement Officer Jermaine Galloway.
The program is designed to educate law enforcement, school officials, treatment providers, and parents on current drug and alcohol trends, concealment methods, and paraphernalia.
The training focuses on identifying items that are often overlooked because they appear to be ordinary, everyday objects, but are actually used to hide or consume drugs and alcohol.
The cost for that program is not to exceed $8,500. The money for that event will come from the Sanilac County Drug task Force millage.
