Sherman Township Officials Approve Pay And Fee Increases

A variety of financial issues were addressed by the Sherman Township Board of Trustees.
The board approved salary increases for its members and others starting April 1.
The clerk's salary was set at $15,440,
The supervisor's salary was set at $10,500, the treasurer's salary was set at $15,440, and the salary for the trustees was set at $2,135.
With that done, the board set the annual salaries of the fire department.
The fire chief's salary was set at $4,765, the deputy chief's salary was set at $1,542, the salary for each captain was set at $310, the training officer's salary was set at $810, and the salary for the secretary was set at $257.
Their salaries will start on April 1 also.
The pay for fire runs was set at $20 per fire run, the pay for work and maintenance meetings was set at $45, the pay for attending regular meetings will be $35, and the pay for training meetings was set at $40.
Also, the hourly pay for employees was set at $18.50 per hour, half a day pay will be $74 a full day's pay will be $148.
Also, the Assessor's pay will be $18,380, the pay for attending the landfill will be $112 weekly, the pay for cemetery maintenance will be $1,040, and the pay for the zoning administrator $1,635 annually; and the pay for the deputy clerk and treasurer $400 annually.
In other financial matters, the fee for cemetery gravesites were increased as well. Starting on April 1, the fee for a gravesite for a township resident or property taxpayer in the township will be $500 and the fee for a gravesite for non-residents and non-taxpayers will be $1,000.
