Shone Vennevy Resigns as Kingston School Superintendent

The Kingston Community School District is searching for a new leader.
During the district's last board of education meeting, Superintendent Shone Vennevy resigned.
Vennevy has held that position since July 2023 when she replaced Matt Drake who retired after 10 years with the district.
Before that, Vennevy served as the district's business manager for several years.
Because of her resignation, the board approved working with the Michigan Association of School Boards to search for an interim superintendent while the search for the next superintendent is being sought.
Initially, there were four candidates vying for the superintendent position, but the board narrowed it down to two to be interviewed.
They selected Vennevy rather than Jenna Tetil, who was then a high school teacher.
