A Fatal Pedestrian Incident reported in St Clair County

The St. Clair County Sheriff Department reported there was a fatal pedestrian incident at about 12:04 p.m. in Port Huron Township on Friday, Feb. 20.
Central Dispatch received calls that a pedestrian walking on Michigan Road North of Dove Road was struck by a vehicle.
The vehicle involved, initially described as a small SUV, was also reported to have left the scene.
County deputies along with the Port Huron Township Fire Department and Tri-Hospital EMS responded to the scene.
When on scene, they found an unresponsive male face down in a water filled ditch and began life saving efforts.
The 51-year-old Detroit man was transported to Lake Huron Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.
The involved vehicle was actually a 2008 Jeep Liberty that was driven by a 16-year-old Marine City male.
The Jeep driver returned to the scene a short time later and was cooperative.
Drug and/or alcohol tests are pending results, the incident is being investigated by the St. Clair County Sheriff's Office Crash Investigation Team.
