Lapeer Commissioners Only Want to Address County Issues

Lapeer County Commissioners made it clear during their meeting that the many issues with the Lapeer City Commission were the city's problems and not the county's.
The issues of strife between city commission members was brought up during the public participation at the commissioners' board meeting.
The issues with the city's government and how things are being done resulted in finger pointing, accusations, and sanctions.
As a result, a recall petition has been filed for Mayor Jeramy Hing.
Because of city issues being aired in a county meeting, some commissioners wanted to make changes to the policies and procedures of commissioners doing updates in the numeric order of the districts they represent, and to limit the amount of time a commissioner can speak.
The proposal was challenged because it was believed it should go to committee first, which was approved.
