Wells Township Approved Making Several Financial Decisions

During the Wells Township Board of Trustees last meeting, they made several financial decisions.
The 2027 fee for garbage service will be $258 per unit for garbage collection.
Holley's Lawn and Snow LLC was hired again to do the 2026 and 2027 winter snow removal from township property.
The contract calls for township's hall parking lot and sidewalks to be plowed and salted at a cost of $200, and the cost to only do salting is $75.
The cost to plow and salt the township cemetery is $200.
They also approved contributing $250 to the Jacqueline E. Opperman Memorial Library in Kingston.
During the meeting, the board also approved turning in a work request form to the Tuscola County Road Commission for possible work to be done in 2027.
The board is looking for information to pave the following roads: Lee Hill Road from Ross Road to East Dayton Road, Riley Road from Merry Road to Hurds Corner Road, and Plain Road and Froede Road.
The township would also like to pave Murray Road from Beaver Road to Riley Road.
They would also like to gravel Gilford Road from Mona Road to Murray Road.
