Airport Fire Remains Under Investigation

The cause of the fire Monday at the Dupont-Lapeer Airport is still under investigation.

Lapeer County Central Dispatch received multiple emergency calls about 7 p.m. on Monday evening from motorists reporting smoke coming from a hanger at the airport that is in Mayfield Township.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the hanger and the property therein.

The origin and cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The Lapeer Fire and Rescue Department was assisted by fire departments from Arcadia Township, Imlay City, Attica Township, Deerfield Township, and Elba Township.
