A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at 12:00 noon at Good Shepherd Parish – St. John Catholic Church in Ubly. Interment will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Parisville. The family will receive guests for visitation at the church on Thursday, December 28, 2023 from 10 am until the service time at noon. The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to the Huron County Medical Facility and McLaren Thumb Region Hospital for the great care they gave Melvin. Family of the Deceased

Melvin is survived by his wife Virginia Leppek of Ubly. Two sons, David Leppek of Emmett and Michael (Wendy) Leppek of Brown City. One daughter, Helen (James) Osantowski of Bad Axe. Four grandchildren, Delonna, Derek, Jeannie, and Rochelle. And two great-grandchildren, Bryce and Areighella. Many nieces and nephews. Melvin was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Bertha and four brothers, Chester, Gerald, Alfonse and Paul as well as many deceased aunts, uncles and a great-niece.

Biography

Melvin Joseph Leppek, age 98, of Ubly, passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2023. Melvin was born on November 5, 1925 in Ubly, son of the late Joseph L. and Bertha (Pawlowski) Leppek. He married Virginia Anna Susalla on September 30, 1950 in St. Mary Catholic Church of Parisville. Melvin farmed for many years. He served on the Ubly School Board and worked with the school board in getting the new gymnasium built. He also enjoyed woodworking and fishing and enjoyed making his own lures. He also loved to do puzzles and search-a-word.
