Carl is survived by two sons – Paul (Sharlene) Binder of Bad Axe and Ken (Missy) Binder of Saginaw. One daughter – Linda Jerome of Davison. Seven grandchildren – Kevin (Bethany) Jerome, Bradley (Keri) Jerome, Jennifer (Jesse) Winkel, Jessica (Joel) Bontrager, Brendon Binder, Mitchell Binder and fiancée Marissa Bueche, Nathan Binder and fiancée Sarah Cline. Honorary granddaughter – Megan Gregory. Ten great-grandchildren – Austin and Sean Jerome, Parker and Aleena Jerome, Joseph, Jackson and Justin Winkel, Annabelle, Rosalynn and Tobias Bontrager. One sister-in-law – Elizabeth “Betty†Binder of Bad Axe. One brother-in-law – Harold Cummings. Many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, Dan Binder. One son-in-law – Gerald “Jerry†Jerome. Six brothers – George, Harvey, Wilfred, Clarence, Walter and Ernie Binder. One sister – Irene Weitzel.
Carl Binder, age 93, passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. Carl was born September 5, 1925 in Bad Axe, son of the late Elmer and Clara (Isler) Binder. He married Wanda Sparling on July 31, 1948 at the Bad Axe First Baptist Church. She preceded Carl in death on December 4, 2015. Carl fought with the U.S. Army in WWII in the Pacific Campaign. He was a Sigel Township farmer all his life and enjoyed sharing his knowledge of farming with his children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. After retiring from farming, he worked for McDonalds Food and Family Center. He was a member of Bad Axe First Baptist Church.
