Funeral Information

Funeral services will be 11:00am Thursday, March 29th at Cross Lutheran Church in Pigeon with Rev. Timothy Loehrke officiating. Burial will be in Cross Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 Wednesday at Champagne Funeral Chapel in Elkton. Memorials may be made to Cross Lutheran Church or School.

Family of the Deceased

Surviving is his wife of 57 years, Inez; children Kimberly (Brian) Delpiere of Pigeon, Steven (Debbie) Buchholz of Clarkston and Scott (Vickie) Buchholz of Lake Orion; seven grandchildren, who were his pride and joy, Kylee (Will), Kasey (Matt), Kayla, Jacob, Emma, Philip and Kendal; siblings Raymond Buchholz of Pigeon, Dorothy Henne of Bay Port, Beatrice (Millard) Deering of Bad Axe, Elaine (Glen) Waterworth of Sterling Heights, Ernest (Sharon) Buchholz Jr. of Elkton and sister-in-law, Virginia (Jim) Moore of Kinde. He was preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Blome and sister-in-law, Elaine Buchholz.

Biography

Clarence was born January 28, 1934, on the family farm in Oliver Township to the late Ernest and Marie (Wurst) Buchholz. He was baptized and confirmed at Cross Lutheran Church in Pigeon. He attended Cross Lutheran School from 4th to 8th grade and graduated from Elkton High School in 1952. On December 3, 1960, he married Inez Moeller at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Bad Axe where he served as an Elder until 1974 when they moved to Elkton. He joined Cross Lutheran Church where he served as an usher and trustee. He worked on the family farm until he bought a truck and hauled loads for Pigeon Co-Op, Wallace and Morley, Agri-Sales and Smith Douglas, retiring in 2011. He loved deer hunting and watching his grandchildren’s sporting events.
